Viking Fire Hood met Nomex® Nano Flex New development in barrier protection at Fire Hoods. The new Fire Hood is made up of three layers and protects the neck, throat, ears and chin. Between the soft viscose layers there is a very thin layer of DupontÖ Nomex® Nano Flex, which forms a protective barrier without compromising the wearing comfort. This material is thinner and lighter than other flammable materials, besides it is very breathable, it has a high flame retardant property and protects it from contaminated particles. Combination of Comfort & Protection With the addition of the Nomex® Nano Flex, the neck and much of the face are better protected, as is known by many, this is usually the most vulnerable and least protected part of the body. See the Difference To test the performance of Nomex® Nano Flex, there has been a Fire Cap test model. In this test model, only one half of the Fire Hood has been run with the Nomex® Nano Flex. After the effort, the Fire Hood has been turned inside out to inspect the contamination of contaminated particles.
